For Grandmother, a braid to represent the beginning and end of her time with us, the blood veins honour our bloodlines, the florals on the shoulders honour our matriarchs across the many generations, and a life lived through many seasons. 

Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, located in Alberta, has a rich cultural heritage deeply connected to the land.
