Midnight to High Noon
Artist - Ovila Mailhot, Sto:lo and Nlaka'pamux Nation
An expression of giving thanks. Giving thanks to the Creator for each new day when we wake. Giving thanks for the positive path we take, through the busyness of each day. The Sun represents medicine, growth, and healing. The Moon is the protector of the Earth. Representing the interconnectedness of all living things, influencing the tides, animals & even our behavior.
Seabird Island, part of the Sto:lo Nation, and the Nlaka'pamux Nation are Indigenous communities located in British Columbia, Canada, each with a rich history connected to the land. The Sto:lo people have lived in the Fraser Valley for thousands of years. The Nlaka'pamux, known as the Thompson River people, maintain a strong relationship with the environment through traditional practices centered on fishing and gathering.
